Super MD smoking

Took my Super MD on a tractor ride . Went for 8 hours with 180 others. During the day it started smoking white and then blue . Towards the end of the day it started missing and smoking more. No lowering of engine coolant at all. Several in the group think I have a bad injector. Can you guys tell me if that could be correct? Or are there other issues?

Before you do anything else I'd recommend working the engine hard for an hour or two (stick it in front of a plow or something). A few minutes into a good workout there's a good chance the smoking will clear up by itself.

Reason: Those old diesel engines are meant to be worked. Under extended light load - as on your long tractor ride - they run cold. This causes poor combustion, soot buildup, wet stacking, smoky exhaust, etc.

If if it still smokes after working it hard post back - we'll look at it some more.

Try what Bob M said first thing. If you have a bad injector you should be able to hear it. It will miss, or at least flutter a bit at certain engine speeds.
