Lots of discussion on problems with carburetors. Recently finished restoration on my 47 M. Really runs great. Except, when you put a load on it at full throttle. Went on a fifty mile tractor ride last thursday ran fine. Got back to the fair grounds put in on a dyno. Not good. 44 HP with the choke half way out. Now What I have done. Rebuilt the carburetor twice. Both time through the cleaner. First time with cheap kit, last time 40 dollar kit. Today, I pulled the plug from bottom of carb. Nice flow of gas. Tried adjusting the power valve. NO luck. Gotta be something wrong with that thing. Any suggestions? Any help appreciated. TDhanks Bernie Steffen

Choke half way out means it is lean -- in the carb itself or outlet from tank, or screen inside inlet to carb. If the carb was very dirty, it takes more than a simple cleaning with carb cleaner -- soak it overnight when disassembled and blow out with compressed air.
Stock HP is 34, 44 sounds pretty good to me.
