H battery and box

Getting to the final assembly of my H restoration. Installed restored original battery box, with lid that has the rubber bumpers in it.
Problem is the battery is too tall. The box is 8 3/4 inches tall and the battery I have is 8 inches tall, (9 inches to top of terminals). Lid won't fit down over it.
Is there a source for 6 volt battery that is LESS than 8 inches tall? Or do I have a box for a cub or something. I bought it at a farm sale.
Box is 9 1/4 long, 7 3/8 wide, 8 3/4 tall

I had a problem finding a battery that fit in my H battery box, except I was looking for a 12 volt. I was able to get one. Just measure your battery box and bring your measurements with you to where ever you buy your battery and find a battery that fits.

6 volt Optima gell cell installed diagonly corner to corner.Spins my H over good.First one I had lasted 10 years.Mark
