SA Transmission

I have to go into my SA transmission to replace the oiler gear and probably some bearings. How do I disconnect the drive shaft coupling at the front of the transmission when I split the trans from the torqe tube? Can't see a way to get to it from below -- or do I just let it pull out from the flywheel when I split it?

Pull it out from the flywheel, separating the two halves of the tractor. Then remove the torque tube from the transmission, exposing the coupling. The bolts in the coupling are special, don't lose them. Also, replace the rubber washers ( 8 of part number 43550D) while you have the coupling apart.

Split it where the transmission and torque tube connect, leaving the tube attached to the engine? I'll be sure to block the rear end well to insure stability. Thanks for the tip on the special bolts.
