560 gas model

Simple, easy, and good tractor to operate and work on.

Put about 100 hours a year on mine mowing hay and running the 10"x60'auger on about 50,000 bu of grain.

Mine burns about 1.2 gallon to the acre mowing hay.

They can usually be bought cheap - not much higher than an M in comparable condition but you get twice the tractor with live PTO, live hydraulics (with a large reservor), a two point (that can easily be turned into a three point) and the 6 cylinder gas engine runs for thousands of hours between overhauls.

As said below they are not good on fuel if you pull them hard - but who plows with one anyway? But using them for hay and blade work they probably run about the same as a diesel given the differance in fuel prices. And they start a lot easier in the winter.

i had a 560 and liked it alot except it is like climbing through a junk yard getting on it it was a 63 model i believe and the fellow that bought it new looked me up and wanted it back so i sold it to him and got a 706 it is much more handy to operate but both very good tractors

I love mine. It is hard to get up on and in the seat but the view from up there is hard to beat. I do run mid grade gas in mine after reading the tractor vets advice on this forum. I have a 3 bottom fast hitch plow and it really is a good combo and does a great job. Father in law said when they first came out there was a local plowing demonstration/contest and the 560 was deemed the most economical tractor there amongst many different brands. Trying to come up with some steps to help with the getting on and off. The 06 series had nice steps for them...Fred

There a good tractor. I've had one since 1987. It's my main loader tractor and does the hay cutting and baling as a backup. Snow blowing in the winter also.
