Can anyone answer this? I am 33 and never owned a tractor. I am care taking and using 268, 90 field, acres with a summer home. I want a farmall to sickle mow and light plowing (planting deer feed). It will be used mainly for fun. I would like to be able to pull a stuck truck or hay wagon but think it would require a huge tractor. What is an "A", cub, 100, or H capable of. The smaller the easier to manage but I don"t know what to buy. Can anyone help? Please email [email protected]

90 acres is a lot for a Cub or A-series, even if you're just mowing. You'd need to be able to full-time farm just to keep up, and I assume you have a regular job and home.

As a gauge, I mowed a roughly 5-acre field with my cub and a 5' sickle last summer. It took me 6 hours. Granted some of that was getting the mower tuned and working reliably, but I still think it would've taken me 5 hours even if I could've just driven off the trailer and started mowing.

How many acres of the 90 would you be mowing? How many plowing each year?
