Oil Pressure Gauge:

(quoted from post at 20:49:27 07/09/08) I installed a new oil pressure gauge on my H Farmall and when tractor is cranked it "pegs out".Is this normal or what could be the problem?

Did you get the correct gauge? You need a 75 or 80 PSI gauge. 45 PSI gauges were also used on some engines so it is possible that you have the wrong gauge. If the gauge is correct the most likely cause is a stuck relief valve in the oil pump.

75 psi is factory correct for the relief valve on Hs and Ms, etc.

I have the 75 psi gauge and it pegs out all day long, I get about 60 psi at idle when hot.

Don't worry, you have good bearings!
