It seem like my fuel pump isnt puting out what it should,Ive checked flow to the pump, rebuilt the pump,it does dribble out up to the T at the gas tank, but not much,I checked the fuel pump rod and it looks like its about 1/8 short. Will a short rod make a lot of difference

James, I have had fuel pump problems and found the check valves will not hold gas in line it will pump pressor back into the bowl I changed the valves in my old kero F-12 and gas F-14 and all seems to be good. If that does not work and your springs are all good and diaphram has no holes than it could be a worn rod if tractor
has alot of hours on it. Did you find a good bull gear? I may have one or a friend my.

I short rod (one that rides the cam lobe in the block) can cause a short stroke on the pump - and little fuel delivery.

Check the end of the rod for a dimple (pump side). I think this is wear from not getting oil. Add a spot of weld and file back. I don't know what the factory length is. Also a worn pivot pin will exacerbate this problem too.
