560 losing power

My 560D has completely stopped while discing, but will restart after sitting for 15-20 minutes and run fine. It has done this several times. I replaced both fuel filters and the screen in the sediment bowl.
Yesterday I was pulling the MoCo home on the highway and it slowed down on its own and wouldn't run over 1200 RPM!

If this is a gasoline engine you need to check for fire asap when it quits running. Pull off one of the plug wires and have someone make an attempt to start the tractor. If there's no fire
you probably need a new coil. Hal
PS: You need to do this before the coil has a chance to cool.

Are ya sure ya gotta wait the 15-20 minutes? Is it getting enough air (air cleaner okay)?

I'm going thru the same exact thing on my Gleaner combine (same pump).

The vent releif valve is plugging with debris from the desentigrating plastic governor ring. Only cure is to send that pump in. :>(

To verify, next time it quits, hit the starter. Bet it starts right back up without having to wait any amount of time.

Sounds like fuel sediment bowl is plugged at inlet, which you need to play "Dutch Boy" while someone cleans it out, or drain the tank.

Allan is one the right track. The 560D has a check valve in the fuel return line at the tank. When the governor elasticast ring starts to disentigrate it plugs the check valve so that fuel can not return to the tank. If this is what is happening crack the fuel return line at the pump when the engine starts to die and the engine will pick up speed as the pressure in the return line is relieved. Also check to see that the vent hole in the fill cap is not pluged.
