Hi, I just bought a 1950 i think farmall m with a 2 hose hydraulic system, corn picker, the tractor has a m and w 9 speed tranmission in it so i was told, narrow front no power steering. excellent tin, what is worth? How much oil does it take to come out of top petcock?

If the picker is in working order I would suggest 2200 dollars. If not is worth much less in my opinion cause you can't hardly work on the tractor with the picker on. Migraine

If that M runs and has good tires, I'd say arount $2500 for the tractor, not the corn picker, I have no idea what the picker is worth. If it does not run but has good tires, I'd say about $2000.

Without knowing more about the tractor, I'd price it in the $1,000 to $1,500 range. The picker is worth whatever it will bring at the scrap yard. The M engine holds 8 quarts of oil. If oil is present at the lower petcock but not the top, add one quart of oil.

If the corn picker is in good shape, I would try selling it. There are a few people out there who still pick corn or sell it to an IH guy to fix and up and take to shows. People keep forgeting that if everything keeps getting scrapped there wont be anything left for the younger generations to remember what farming used to be like. This is coming from an 20 year old IH collector. Some younger guys like myself are getting into the tractor fever but also want to get into showing implements too!
