Cylinder Compression Setting for M & Sweep Question

Hi all, just wondering of someone has the cylinder compression for the M.

Also, does anyone know what the name of this particular sweep I use on my 140 cultivator and where I would find a set? They have a cut out in the shape of a V. My IHC parts dealer got me a set but they do not have the 'v' cut out and are not working the way I need them to.

MUCH appreciated!
Michelle.

Can you post a picture of the cultivator shovel (sweep)?
Compression will vary depending on the particular cylinder head and style of piston the engine is equipped with. It will run well with low comprssion numbers (75 or so) as long as they are even for all cylinders.
High numbers will be 120+ lbs.

I believe they are called 'slotted sweeps'.

Thank you very much for the M compresssion info. I know that the tractor is very powerful and it has 4 cylinders. I will ask my mechanic fr more details on it.

My M with the 8060 gasoline head and stepped head pistons approach 135psi+ across the board. As tractor vet said, with tractors these old, who knows how many times the heads have been machined. All I know is I had to ditch the battery box to use a big enough 6 volt battery to crank the tractor over in the winter.
