Today I spent about two hours with a friend"s 1949 Farmall M, driving it to a parade, in the parade and home again. Many (mostly) wonderful memories floated through my thoughts. I spent MANY hours on an M as a teenager in the 1940s and 1950s on Dad"s North Dakota farm.

That's the way it is with most of us on this forum. I like the quote: "There is something to be said for old tractors; they drag souls from the grave and pull generations together."

I agree entirely.

I couldn't count the hours spent on a SH working the farm. I was taken by the flood of memories that surround me while the time I spend restoring it today.

Your quote is exactly right too btw.

There is a certain magic about an antique tractor you grew up with.

Thanks. I love that quote also, but let me clarify - it is not my quote; I don't know who wrote it, and I am not claiming any credit it for it. I just try to keep it from fading away. mike
