I need to work on the engine on my IH 460 utility tractor so I need to take the complete Westendorf 21 loader off. I normally only drop the bucket and since I don't have an operators manual on my loader I figured I should ask. It looks like I should be able to set the bucket down and release the 2 flip locks by the radiator and just back out of the assembly but I'm afraid that the arms are too heavy to stay up by them self and that they will fall to the ground when I back out of them. If this happens I do not have enough slack in my hoses to reconnect them. Do I need to block it up somehow? Any advice would be very appreciated.

DO you have a big tree or overhaed hoist or barn rafters you could hook chains/come-a-longs to to support the arms.

don't know or sure on 21 loader but the 26 i use bucket must be flat on ground, unlatch as indicated back out some (you may have to slightly raise or lower to get loader to slide back) use lift cylinders to lower front of loader frame to ground until it is about verticle, this is the support stand, shut tractor off and work hyd. valves to remove pressure. disconect hoses and back away from loader. reinstall by reversing procedure. i do this frequently as i use tractor with other equipment that is a pain with the loader on while working in close quarters
