Enough Threads Here For A Quilt, Scotty!

Yeah, Scotty, I mentioned in a previous post (a few days back) that there was an ounce or so of anti-freeze in the oil when I drained it, and I got a few other helpful reasons that it could be there, especially if the tractor had sat up for awhile, and I'm keeping those in mind, too. But with this new info added to that, I'm even more hopeful that it is the head gasket.

I'll get that compression guage and a good torque wrench, too, so I can do what we've discussed here, but that may be after the weekend since it's a holiday weekend.

As for manuals, I have coming: a Super A owner's manual w/copyright a year or two before my tractor (the chassis year, at least), an I&T Shop manual for it and several others (may be #8), a Parts catalog/manual for the A, Super A, AV, A-1 and AV-1, and two books on rebuilding and restoring Farmalls. I don't have the IH Blue Ribbon manual (how'd I miss it?), but maybe the odd tid-bits in it will be included in the restoration/rebuilding books. (These books sure are cutting into my spray-paint budget!)

I know we've had some lengthy discussions/threads on here about my SA's problems, and I'm not sure how others on here feel about such long posts, so if you think it would be better I can email you directly as I go along on this project. But I have learned a lot from reading the posts about other people's problems and answers on this site, not to mention other people's replies to my posts. This is the best and most helpful source for information I have yet to come across for any subject in all the nine years I've been on the internet and I don't want to offend anyone here with long posts and/or threads, especially since I'm a newbie here!

The threads HAVE been lengthy, especially my posts, but I've been offending around here for several years!

Feel free to email. If ya just want to hash somethin' out or have a prticular problem I might be able to help ya with that's probably the best way to go at it. If you think your problem or the answer to it would be of general interest, then this is probably the better place for it. If I can answer a question with certainty for ya, I'll be happy to. If I'm not sure, I'll tell ya to put your question up on the board and sit back and learn along with ya.

Either way, don't be bashful.
