1020 McCormick Paint

I have a 1929-- 1020 McCormick Deering tractor that had a blue/greyish paint color when I purchased it. I have some accessories for my 1020 that need to be painted. My dealer recommened Hershel-Adams number 972101 McCormick Deering grey.

However, the Hershel-Adams paint appears to be a lot grayer than my tractor. Has anyone used Hershel-Adams or spray paint that matches the original 1020 color? I only need a spray can.

I sprayed the accessories several days ago and it still isn't dry. Any suggestions?

the original grey is a very dark grey with a hint of blue in it. alot of times if a grey tractor was left in the sun alot, it would fade but the blue would become a bit more noticeable!

I used Centari dupont on my 29 and it was as close as it gets to the right color which was a battleship grey with black added. I have seen some that were grey looking and suspect they were just faded out or had been repainted eons ago the wrong color. I looked for the color code a while back but still haven"t found it.

Take a look at this web site. Hal
PS: This 22-36 was painted with Van Sickle paint.
Dupont's 97625-D is suppose to be close to IH1063
paint code.

Here's PPG's paint codes for tractors too.
