Mowing ditches with narrow front H, pics and video!

I didn't tip it over! I didn't go to the steepest part of the ditch, either. And of course a lower speed is always safer as well.

The somewhat painted 42 H is pulling an IH 100 balanced head mower and the rusty H has an IH 1110 mid-mount mower...

Videos are on my YouTube account at http://youtube.com/user/smgussey

And here are some pictures from today...

(quoted from post at 06:00:04 07/02/08) Nice pics. Looks like you could make some good hay there too.

Just the ditches look like that, and even they are poorer than a normal year. We are getting about 1 bale per 2.5 acres this year. Last year we got about 2 bales per 1 acre. The wheat is starting to burn up, the pasture is almost done for, etc.

Unfortunately the drought area is just a small area here in SW ND, go about 30 miles in any direction and things are looking good. We are not newsworthy, either.

I'm glad my parents ran me off the farm and made me go to college! I've got money in the bank to pay my bills and more coming...

Wish we could send you some of the rain we've had here ln Ohio. Wainting on some more good weather to finish up my first cutting hay. Made 1068 bales about ten days ago, none since.

Gotta say, those don't look like very steep side hills...

Besides, the rear wheels of the tractor provide the stability. Wide fronts only give you the illusion of stability; by the time the front axle hits the stop, the tractor is already going over.. They just ride better.

That's right. False sense of security..... mike
