Plow serial numbers

During the past two years, I have become a Little Genius plow collector. Is there a web site or any other way I can take the serial number of the plow and tell what year the plow was made?

No such thing for #8 plows as far as I know. For more info on #8 plows, go to "Wisconsin Historical Society" webpage, you will find a button for IH, click on it and you will find the old IHC archives, including what color paint went on what part of the plow. For square head nuts and bolts for those plows, contact CrescentForge.Com and Earl Seamands will help you. How many #8 do you have? Where do you live?

Lowell: I don't think any IH plows had serial numbers until one gets into Numbers 60, 70, 500 and 700 series plows. Probably around 1965, they started putting serial numbers on plows.
