IH 1456 Injector Pump Question

According to the manual, the manifold has to be pulled to remove the injector pump... has anyone removed one without removing the manifold before? If so, what's the level of difficulty and what's the most reasonable place to get a rebuild kit / or rebuilt pump??

The pump can be removed by removing the injection lines supports but the problem is that you are going to have to loosen the injection lines at the injectors to get the air bled out after reinstalling the pump. The reason for removing the manifold is to gain access to the injectors.

It's fun, I have replaced several injection pumps on 407's with out pulling the manifolds. You can get the lines loose at the injection nozzles with the manifold on.
