Cub front axle

This weekend the right side front wheel broke off at the upper right angle joint. I believe the part is called the "front axle extension". I have tried to get the old one out but no success so far. It's probably been in there for 50-60 years. I heated the outer tube then sharply rapped it with a large hammer. I'm trying to turn the stub end with a large pipe wrench. I would appreciate any suggestion on how to get this inner steel tube out.

I did one like that once, I welded a chain hook to it and used the porta-power - Don't hit the outer tube, you will dent it in and lock the inner tube in there. good luck Jim

My experience with a Cub front axle... Tried penetrant, heat, portapower, rigged uppuller with all thread. Never did get it out. Took it to shop that does my welding. They could not get it to break loose either. Ended up splitting the back side of the outer tube with a grinder, then spreading it enough to get it loose, then rewelding the split. My welding shop did this and is not noticeable at all after grinding smooth and repainting.
