howdy george, i'm still workin some bugs out of this 240 u fast hitch. finally got the single acting check valve working. seems you gotta get a o-ring from case -ih. went thru 3 different ones, then got one from dealer. works good now. have a ?s on the drop speed of this fast hith. no matter how gentle you try to lower the hitch, it slams the bush hog down to the ground. kinda scared i'll break the tail wheel off. had to re mount the 3 point adapter to the mower, hitch did not have enough up lift travel to get the mower off the ground, but it sure had enough down travel. is there any adjustment to slow the lowering of the fast hitch? the m's and h's had a restricter for the rear cultivator, would something like that work here? i ended up putting 4 stops on the cylinder to limit down travel. heres a few pics

Not George here but I have no idea why the lift drops so fast. My 240 powers the lift up and down. Do you have a hydraulic valve under the gas tank to change from single action to double action? If there is one it will have a S and D on it. The arms in the fast hitch seems to have a droop in them. Could this be part of the reason it doesn't lift too high? Including a picture of my setup with a box blade. See if you can tell what might be different. David....

i 'll have to look for that valve, but the hitch does power down, when i have the back blade on it, it powers the blade into the ground pretty good. even the back blade does not lift high off the ground with the hitch in the full up position. i have the owners manual for the tractor, but it has nothing in it on the fast hitch. the turnbuckles are in the shortest position, it almost acts like maybe they are the wrong ones for this hitch. if they were shorter, i could get more height when in full up position.

Go to the online catalog and compare your lift to those pictured. I think you may have the wrong "stabs" in the fasthitch or they have a lot of wear???? David....

One other thought. My hitch has bolts (pins) that are removable for hogging to let it float a little. If yours are removed you may get more lift with them in. David.....

nda Walking into this one Blind but, Does'nt your hitch work via the Quadrant control at your right hip? thats how mines set up and I get bunches of lift. At least 40deg from horiz. And I've got a Blue Ribbon manual for the hitch.Let me know what the question is and I'll see if I can find the answer. At least as I get a Break from Re-Roofing my House!

Hey ,I'm Looking at your picture and it looks like your lines going to your Hydro cylinder are switched around. That would definitely make it work funny.(learned from painful experience!)
