Voltage regulator adjustment

After many posts, much anguish and three trips to the people who fix generators, many trys at adjusting the VR with a needle nose pliers I have finally gotten my A to charge. It is now charging 7.2 V and as high as 12 amps at high throttle( Battery Low). Now here is the kicker!!!!!!!!!!!there is and adjustment screw on the Tisco VR to adjust the normally closed points. No bending is required. The screw loosens the platform to relieve tension on the point. oNLY TOOK A YEAR TO FIND IT. Saved me much headaches. NUff said Henry

Doesent your generator have the third brush that adjusts the amperage? What is the Delc-Remy number on the gen?

I am not sure of the numbers on the generator but the third brush is not adjustable. Just had it repaired again this morning. Two of the brush wires had come in contact and therefore no charge. Its ok now. Also got the VR adjusted properly for now . Thanks Henry
