hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me, I've got an international farmall m and I'm trying to find out the year it was made in. Problem is the serial number I've got from the side doesn't seem to match up with anything on the internet. It says fbk 123526 x 3 and it was made in chicago. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks

According to Guy Fay's "International Harvester Tractor Data Book", 123526X3 was probably built in 1947 (1947 #'s begin 122823, end 151807 or begin 114206, end 149769, depending on which records you want to believe). The X3 suffix means it came from the factory with a kerosene engine. If it ever ran on kerosene, it would have probably been right after it came out due to WWII gas rationing which created some problems getting that fuel even after the war, but to my knowledge, kerosene was not rationed, so it was easier to get. Does it still have the shutters on it? If not, I'd bet it ran on gasoline since it was new. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
