Hey all, I was just wondering were you checked the level of hydrolic oil in my B-275. I was told it is the plug behind the seat. I pulled the plug in it, and there is oil in there, but it looks to be down about 6" or so from the top. Were should the level be? What kind of oil should I use? I was told to use esso hydrol 56. This ok?

Also there is a plug beside the gear shifter, I assume this is were you would check the level of oil in the tranny? I pulled it and I couldnt see any oil, were should the level be on it? Also what kind of oil should you use? Thanks alote for all your help!!

Rotax There is a level plug for the transmisson just under the foot rest on the right hand side by the brake peddles. The hydrolic level is behind the seat on the top of the casting. If anymore questions just ask.

Thanks for the reply, what hydraulic oil should I use? also what kinda of oil should be used in the tranny? Thanks.

Hi Rotax, for hydraulics use IH Hytran hydraulic fluid or equivalent. Although my B414 Ops Manual says that non-detergent 20W tractor oil can be used for hydraulics. Hytran is better because it will absorb some moisture.
Transmission oil is below 32F, gear 80W and above 32F gear 90W.
