Help to ID yellow IH tractor

Last week I purchased this tractor http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190227413072 & need help to ID year & model so I can buy a manual, parts & consumables! The only markings are International & the red on black IH emblem. The seller tho't it might be a 1969 260A but it doesn't look like any 260A I've seen. I'd appreciate any help from where to look for ID to an accurate online picture

Hi looking at the dash photo, I see the transmission shift levers with 4 speed and hi/lo range, so my guess is a 3414 based on the British B414 ag tractor with a B144 gas engine. Never models were 2444, 3444 and 2300. I believe some units that were assembled in USA may have a C153 gas engine.

Please don't be offended but why would you buy something you're unsure of from someone who doesn't know what he's selling ? Just another of the reasons I will NEVER buy on ebay; if I can't see-touch it I don't want it.

you better hope those brakes jsut need ot be adjusted becuase if they are like the b-275 there a real pain in he butt

Gary, not offended, a perfectly legitimate question. I was able to see it & liked how well it ran. Also, the seller described it very accurately & had a 100% feedback rating. I wasn't buying the model/year, just a machine that ran well, could do the job & I could afford. So far I've usually been able to find some way to identify something online. Of all the things I've bought on ebay, w/ the exception of one inexpensive item when I didn't read the description closely, I've been very pleased.

It has the 4 spd w/ forward & reverse; haven't tried some of the levers so don't know about hi/lo range; that would be nice. On external_link I found pictures & some info on a 3414 that looks alot like mine w/ some differences. If the grill & fenders are different does that mean it's not that model? I haven't had time to look at the other models you suggested. Thanks, Sharon
