Super M Gear Noise

I have a Super M that has a whine coming from the constant mesh gears. After doing some checking the supers had a different transmission input shaft than the M. Does anyone know what the difference in the two shafts is. I just replaced both constant mesh gears but I think they may have been from a early M. Thanks

Unless its from a real early M there's just a little deference in the length of shaft between rear and front input shaft bearing and a larger front input shaft bearing was used. Also the input shaft housing, bearing retainer and the drive shaft yoke is different. Late input shaft was used on late M and SM tractors. If you use a common M input in a SM, Use the M input housing and all related parts.
Make sure main shaft pilot bearing is good and parts are not mismatched. Several different bearings and bearing retainers were used.
