Super A fast hitch question.

On a recent purchase of a Super A I think there is a two point fast hitch. Were there any two point conversions that were used on Super As and 140s??

A picture would help tremendously. Can you post it in the "Help Identify" section to the left of this page, and post back here?

The common Fast Hitch conversion on the Super A was a ONE point, the one that came as an option on the 100, 130, and 140.

There is an aftermarket kit to add a Category 1 three-point hitch, which would be two lower lift arms and a removable top stabilizer link. Many people have built homemade three-point conversions as well. This is likely what you have.

A two-point fast hitch would be too wide to fit between the final drives, I believe. Otherwise, it could be done.

Vacherie: Technically there were no factory fast hitches one point or two point, on Super A. There is evidence some of the very last Super A tractors were equipped with one point fast hitch. I suspect those were dealer add ons after sale.

There were narrow gauge two pint fast hitches installed on high clear 100, 130 and 140. I've not heard anyone declare they were factory installations. Most of them were used on tool bar equipment whereby forks could be adjusted to match the hitch sockets.

The one on my new Super A looks like a shop made two point. When I got the SA it had a 5' bush hog atached to what I believe is normal lower link ends welded to the one or two point ends and the were inserted into two point attachments that were welded to the two bars that came from under the rear wheel housings. I will try to get pictures next week.

Vacherie: Those hitch links you describe, two bars coming from under the rear wheel housings, sound much like the two point hitch used on high clear 100, 130 and 140. Rather than the 27"-28" apart as seen on SC or 200, these will be about 24" apart, and made out of roughtly 1-1/8" x 3" steel. Does this sound like them?

The 24" width is what I have. The bar size is what I remember and I will check next week. Since March 15, 2008 I have bought two 140s and one Super A and sold two JDs and one Massey Pony. The details are unclear. I have two trailer loads of implements many of which I don't know the use or names.
