first off the battery is fully charged, it is showing 7.6 volts with the meter. I am getting fire to the starter switch on the starter. removed the starter and switch and juped strait to stud on starter and the starter kicked out fine. thought it was the switch so got new switch /no change. It is like switch is not making contac with the stud on the starter. IT is on a farmall 100 thank you for any sugestion.

The stud is eroded away some. There are three things to try.
1) elongate the holes in the switch to allow it to be forward about 1/16". this allows a bit more operation out of a worn stud.
2) Repair the stud by silver soldering a thin strip to the surface that hits the contact in the switch. (requires disassembly of starter to prevent melting of the insulator, (probably a pro job unless you are setup for serious soldering.
3) replace the stud Same as 2 above. JimN
