Looking for any info. on Mc Cormic milking system. Books, or word of mouth. Thinking about trying to set one up and want to make sure that I have the items that I need to do so. I read some one up at the round up had one but I could not get there. Only live two hours away and still couldn"t get things to work out so that I could go. Thanks Sam

I don't remember o lot about the milking machine. In 1948 my dad bought a new "H" for $850. But he had to buy a 2 row cultivator and a milking machine with it because tractors were hard to get at the time, so it cost him $1250 for the package deal.

Back in 1948 I ran 3 of them......my dad followed behind and striped the cows dry.....we milked 48 reg.Jersys,I was 10 years old.......Don

I saw the milking machine at the roundup. The NebraskaCowman (Howard) and his associates had it set up and working. As a matter of information, I have down in the shop the SS container that the milk goes into and to which the thingies attach to that attach to the cow. I also have a large vaccume pump and tank that powered it. No motor.

We had DeLaval milkers and we had about 40
Guernseys. I would run the milkers and my brother and dad would strip. I had to dump the milk and run the milk thru a filter into cans. Then put them in a cooler. If we happened to oversleep my sister would dump the milk and my mom, dad. brother and I would strip & run the milkers. We were still in school then. In 1951 that changed my brother joined the Air Force and I helped with the milking until 1953 and I was drafted. Hal

"teet Cups?" City Boy here. I have only seen one at a distance.

When your working tools are a law book...who knows how dumb one is? :)
