I have a old B-275 and was wondering if it has a 12V charging system or 6.

Hi B275 should have 12V with positive ground unless someone changed generator with alternator. Early B275s may have had 2x6V batteries in series to give 12V.

Rotax, if it has a generator then 9 out of 10 it is positive ground. If someone has installed an AC Delco alternator then it will be negative ground. The starter motor will turn correct direction regardless of positive or negative ground. If you check caseih parts site and search for 275 you will find electrical diagram with 2x6V batteries with positive ground.
