Head torque for super A

Just to confirm, I know the original manual says 65 ft. pounds for the A head, was there a bulletin that came out saying torque should be 80 foot pounds????

Also found out that not all A head gaskets are the same. Some As came with the 123 CID engine and had a water pump. This head gasket has smaller holes for the water passages. I got one of these gaskets from the shop and Im glad I noticed the difference. When buying a gasket, if your A doesnt have a water pump and is the 113 cid engine, make sure they give you the correct gasket.

Wow, now Im really confused. Ive heard 65 80 and now 90. There has to be someone with a solid answer.

80 lbs is the correct number. Look at tuneup specs on www.weberstractorworks.com. To be safe, get your own parts manual and give your dealer the part number. But, the C123 in the A/Super A series did not appear until the introduction of the Super A1.
