IH 574 Gen Questions

Hey guys. I'm considering trading my old Oliver Super 55 Gas for a IH 574 Diesel. It's going to be a big jump in HP, but I could use it (feel sorry for working my Oliver so hard sometimes). Anyway, I know the 574 is a bigger and heavier machine, but I'm wondering if I should keep the rear wheel weights from the Oliver for this if the trade goes through. Are they that useful on this tractor? They came in handy since my Oliver had a Loader and I needed all the weight I could get, but no loader on the IH. Any benefits of keeping them? I also use my tractor as my primary lawn mower, so too much weight could also be bad. Just looking for opinions.

Thanks,
Justin

It will be tough to mount them, I would not try, A better option would be to get IH weights. and use as needed. JimN

If trading with a dealer the weights wont change the price if you keep them if they dont know you had them to start with . Take them off , if you dont use them there money in your pocket . A 574 needs rear weight if you get a loader for it .You can always hang them on a 3-pt aperatice for loader work .

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking the rear wheels were the same or similar enough to use the weights (same rims, etc). I doubt I'll ever put a loader on it, so they may go with the tractor.

Anyone like to share the strengths and weaknesses of this tractor? I should know the trade-in difference this week.

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there!

Justin
