M 2 way Hyraulic

I have a IH two way on my M, but it only works good with the rod forward. I have two rods, one turns on the pump, and you can lock it back, the other is the two way, works when you push it forward, at times it works both ways, then all the sudden it won't. The fluid is up to level, and it doesn't matter if I use a one way or two way cylinder. I can move the cylinder all the way out, then have to swap hoses around to get it back in. Some times if I shut off the pump the cylinder will go back in if there is weight on it. But it will work good sometimes and then all the sudden you hear a little click near the couplers and it won't go the one direction at all. Is it possible to have bad couplers, or maybe something plugging the coupler? I took apart the two way valve and it was clean as a whistle. Hope to start cutting hay with it as soon as weather will let me. Thanks guys you are always a good help.

Clean really doesn't tell you much. It could be clean but worn and not operating correctly.

What happens if you get off and operate the valve's lever manually, bypassing the rod? Does it feel the same in both directions, or does it snap, pop, or feel "mushy" in one direction?

When you hear that click, try to reconnect the hoses. You may not have them connected properly, or as you suspect, the connectors may be worn out.

To lower one-way cylinders with the two-way valve installed, you need to release the belly pump rod. That's normal.

I switch out one of the couplers and that seemed to cure the problem as far as I could tell. It was the coupler that I thought was working, but sometimes stuff is backward like that, I suppose it worked under pressure, but not as a return. Thanks guys.
