Governor on my Farmall M is sluggish. I don't mind taking it off an rebuilding it. Question is should I just rebuild it with stock parts or is there some aftermarket parts that will work better? Somebody suggested weights out of a 350 governor. any ideas? any info appreciated. Bernie Steffen

If you are pulling competitively a M&W aftermarket governor (if you can find one for a price you will pay) is quicker responding, but not dramatically.
Clean, replace worn parts, and it should be OK. (I am not sure of the interchangeability of governors from different engines, H based engines govs may be different enough to give problems. If done wrong, governors can cause safety issues. JimN
