Would anyone know if fenders off an IH 584 would fit a IH 454. I have a 1971 IH 454 with the flat top fenders and have been unable to locate any fenders in Canada. I can buy new fenders for a 584 but have been unable to find out if they would fit. Or if anyone knows of a set of used fenders I would buy a set if I could find them.
 
bog how are you, i dont have an answer to your question but i'm going to the dealer this week i'll try and find out fer you.but i have a question fer you i have a 454 also 74 i think. the dealer cant tell me the lenth of the swinging draw bar or what size holes in it they only tell me its 300 for a new one i have some one inch stock around figure i'll make myself. thanx mike
 
Mike the draw bar is available from A & I new and should not be $300, I have a 1971 454 and A & I is listing 2 part numbers for early & late SN.

This draw bar is listed as fitting IH 2400, 385, 395,454, 464,495,574 etc.

I can measure my draw bar and send you the dimensions if you want.

I have the dimensions of my drawbar, I will try to get an email sent to you from the bulletin bard here, but I am still figuring this out.

Try www.chowntractorparts.com for used fenders.

They are in New Brunswick. They have a 454 with good tin, fenders, etc.
 
Wrong style fenders, I have the flat top and would like to keep the same style, but I have put in a request for quite a few other parts for myself and a buddy who has a 454.

Thanks, I never knew about this salvage yard, I know I will go here often and I bet a lot of other folks will to.
 
Mike the draw bar is 38 inches long, 2 1/4 inches wide, it is 1 1/4 thick. It has a 1 inch dia hole at the implement end that is 1 1/2 inches to center from the end of the draw bar.

The transmission end has 2, 7/8 inch dia holes at 1 1/2 & 3 inchs to center from the other end of the draw bar.

I have a drawing of this as well if you have a email I can send it. I tried to reply with the email option here but may have done it wrong.
