1947 A Carb

I bought a 1947 farmall A last year and just as soon as I got it home I tried to get it started. The person I bought it off of said there was something wrong with the carb. So tried fixing it but had no luck. So can anyone tell me how to set up the floats and everything else on this carb?

AJ Clark: Is the carb Carter or Zenith? Carters are a pain in the butt, and if that is what you have I suggest you shop around for a good Zenith.

Soak the entire carburetor for a while in carb cleaner or fuel oil. Blow all the passages of the carb out very well with compressed air and be sure that no passages are plugged. Install a brand new carb kit that is made for your carb and see if it will run right or not.

Good luck.

Contact Dan Ewald at [email protected]. He should have the one I just sent him rebuilt shortly. It's off my '39. I put a complete rebuild kit in it (no instructions or settings included) but found out that the parts weren't identical to mine. The '47 carb Dan sold me runs fine!

Just a suggestion, is the line to the carb clear flowing? once I found a bug in the line of my 48 SA.
