HOTDIGGIDYDOG!

After dinner last night I went out to the shop to putter around on this manifold replacement on my M. I applied several of the pieces of advice I was given here on removing that broken manifold stud.
1. Ground a flat spot on the end w/ a die grinder.
2. Found center and gave it a few solid wacks w/ a punch.
3. Got er good and hot with the acetylene torch.
4. Melted some candle wax on the hot area, I could actually see the wax being wicked into the threads.
5. Let it cool down while I rebuilt the carburator.
6. Drilled out the center w/ a 1/8 bit, then a 1/4 bit.
I think, just as the 1/4 bit was cutting through the back of the stud, it grabbed and gave er a 1/4 turn.
7. Put one of my old easy outs in the newly installed hole, and spun er out!
I can't really give much credit to the easy out(I've broken as many of them as anyone has) but it was just enough to pull er out.
