Hi all I have always been a John Deere fan but just found a deal I could not pass up on a 10-20 McCormick. The tractor looks to be complete but is stuck. I am going to try to get it home this week and am very sure I will have some questions about it. Just wanted to share. Thanks JDman60

Know where you are coming from. I had always had JD, my Dad worked for JD for years. A few years back a guy wanted to get rid of his "Super M", only wanted $100 so figured I couldn't loose. Turned out it was a super MTA. Have gotten a lot of good advice from this board just like on the JD side. Old IH tractors are pretty basic, kinda like a JD with 2 more holes in the block and a foot clutch.

The great thing about most folk on this board is that they're color blind! I don't care if the tractor is red (IH and Case), green (Deere), orange (Allis), blue (Ford) or yellow (highway maintenance)--or anything else! Most folk have opinions, of course, but also most would be interested in tractor iron if it were made in the U.S., Great Britain, Japan, Korea, Russia or some 3rd world country. I would not be surprised if the Chinese started exporting tractors to the U.S. soon. This is [b:654c4848f0]such[/b:654c4848f0] a great place to visit on the web.

JD,what year is it,is the sheet metal in good shape,I broke one loose and rebuilt the motor and before I got it running I traded it off for a F20,Some times I regrete it.Its fun going to the fairs with the oldest tractor there.I have a 1928 Farmall regular still in its work clothes and it gets a lot of attention.

I am not sure of the year yet. It is sitting in the back of a barn with a lot of stuff packed around it and I could not see the serial number. It sets on a good set of steel wheels just shows alot of wear on the angle iron bands that help it steer. The tractor is complete, the sheet metal is all there I think, it has some damage to the rear fenders and the usual dent and dings but I think I can make it run again. I am not planning to restore it just fix the mechanical stuff and show it for a while, will most likely sell it again someday just found a good deal and thought I would play with it for a while.
