Fuel Tank 140/Super A

They have different part numbers. Super-A1 with ser no's above 356000 look very similar, but don't appear an exact duplicate. Bet modifications are needed like brackets, etc.

Vacherie: I went out to shop with SA and 140 side by side, went over them with a mearuring device, and the only difference I can see is length of back tank supports that attach it to the touch control unit. 130 is same as 140, and of course this is to accomodate higher radiator in all tractors factory equipped with C-123 engine.

Another thing I noticed last winter when I had my Super A dismantled for painting, serial number 336977 and already they had the same two position front fuel tank support as SA1, 100, 130 and 140. I know this tractor is all factory, so IH were getting ready for the change to SA1 as early as mid 53. I'd be almost certain the actual tank is the same.

Hugh, my "51 Super A also has the two position front tank support. I bet they used it on the Super C with the C123 as well.

I looked at both tanks and it looks like the SA will fit the 140. When I get the SA tank cleaned I will know. If so, I will give a report. Thanks for the feed back.
