560 steering question

I've got a 560 with probably 180 degrees plus slop
before you get any response out of the power steering. Backing can be a real challenge under these conditions when running a snow blower. Everything visible from the wheel on down to where
the steering shaft disappears in the front end looks tight. I'm thinking the linkage to the PS
valve is probably where the slop is. Anyone been
there before? What am I in for to fix? Is it worth
hassling with?

I had a 560 years ago with a lot of steering free play also. All exposed linkages, ball joints, and bearings were in good order. I traced it to a set-screw that had backed out/loosened in the steering mechaninsm located in the bolster. You'll have to remove your left had frame rail to pull the steering mechanism out for tighten of the set screw.
