I just bought a Grapple for my 574 and need to hook up the hydraulics. While I am waiting for the parts I hooked it up and found that 760lbs is alot on the 574. It pickes it up fine but there is alot of weight on the front.

I need ballace and think I have that figured out but I am not sure it will lighten things up enough to make it useable for lifting another 1000 lbs.

What do you think?

See my Reply on your question about the barrel.Thats why I made mine.I have a pretty big bucket on my Loader. The #500 on the Back holds it down good.

Sweet, I want about 1000 lbs to aid in the lifting past just balancing out the bucket.

so if my math is correct you want to pick up 1760 lbs on the front of a 574 tractor and drive to the woods and dump the rocks ?
I think you should think about about a bigger tractor. the front end will not hold up.

I Have to agree with Ed, Your tractor is not big enough to handle the weight. Just because you can counterbalence the bucket, does NOT mean you can lift Buildings! Not a Good Idea.... :?

I was under the understanding it was rated for 2000lbs on a loader?

I may have been misinformed.

It will pick it up easily, it just won't go anywhere cause the wheels slip.

Thats a MAX Load Rating. It will lift probably more than that but the front mounts will break off. Ive tried that and I've repaired the damage now. If You put a 1/2 barrel on the back with about 300-500# You should get some good use out fo the loader, but dont push your luck too far. Or it will get expensive. Good Luck!

If the tractor itself is rated for 2000 pounds, that includes the weight of the loader too. 2000 - weight of loader = how much you can lift

760 lbs? That sounds like a heavy grapple. i doubt mine weighs more than a couple hundred pounds.

760 is what the manufacturer said it weighs. I am just going off of that. I figured that the pallet forks weighed around 500lbs and the tractor handles it great. Even with several hundered pounds on it. I am kinda disapointed with the way the tracor handles it. I haven't used it with ballace on it yet, but will later this week when I get the barrell filled with cement.

Is the one in the photo a 574 row crop? Mine is the utility.

The pic I posted is an 86 Hyrdo, That's a little bigger tractor. But I handle bales with a Farmall H too and have no trouble. One thing you will notice if you are handling round bales is the further out front it is the harder it will lift. Get it grabbed up close and then roll the bucket all the way back.
