Local salvage yard called me to look at a M that had an Oliver loader on it and split the torque housing in two right behind the clutch. Probably could be redone but don't know if its worth all the trouble. Has X1A serial tag about 144,000 which should be slow gears gas model correct? Has I.H. wide front with tie rods out front that is in nice shape and good drawbar and the engine supposedly good has the belly pump with auxiiary valve installed to run the dual hyd. on the loader. Lots of good stuff on here but I think maybe part it out. Any ideas what it is worth? thanks Migraine

Not sure it"s worth, but torque tubes are dime a dozen at the tractor salvage yards... I"d offer $500 or so depending on the tires..

why not just buy it and repair it because them you could probably sell it for over double the price you bought it for

I say offer the man what he paid for the scrap price anyway, and you should easily be able to get that back out of it if you wanted to part it (between the loader, gears, etc).

Or, go find one of the many torque tubes thats out there, slap it on, and re-sell for at least as much as you have into it.

I would say it really depends on how much you want to tinker...

they have several torque tubes at meridian that you could buy, it would be a good resto tractor. or a good work tractor without the loader.

Tractor will bring $200+ per ton over scales for scrap (at least in my area) so if tractor and loader weigh 6000 lbs. scrap value is $600 plus.
