Baling with SH at an Idle

I am pulling a NH model 66 baler with wisconsin on it.I tried pulling in 1st but that is a little slow so i increase rpm that i don't need. Next I went to 2nd at idle or just above and that works good. Oil pressure looks good at idle ; so question is: will idling be OK for periods of time? I throttle up in the lighter hay.
Buddy W: after 5 years in storage only missed 5 bales in 200!

I wouldn't run less than 1/4 throttle for extended periods... As long as you aren't lugging the engine down you should be OK, but throttle up once in a while to clear everything out, if the engine isn't running up to temperature you will get cylinder wash from unburned fuel at a slow speed.

We used to pull a tobacco transplanter with an H at idle speed. Did it for several days every year with no problems. I wouldn't worry with it if your cooling system is clean.
