Hauled it all to the dealer this time! (pic)

Well after $1000.00 to rebiuld my PTO on a 460 utility. I had to haul it all in to the dealer. When I took just the PTO unit in 1 month ago to get rebuilt I expected it to function when I got it back. After installing it and putting all the fluids back in, I pushed the operating lever down to turn off the PTO but the entire engine would labor. I called the dealer about making proper adjustments but realized there was no changing what was occuring when I tried to disengage the PTO. I also asked if he topped off the oil level and he said, " no I didn't want you to get full of oil until it was installed." A strange answer I thought because If $1000 was spent on a rebuild it shouldn't leak oil. Besides it didn't leak when I took it in! Well I then put 2 qts of oil in per the IT manual and low and behold... the thing leaked. I then called the dealer calmly expressing my dismay and making it known that I am not willing to spend more on this. He told me that apparently something was not done right in the first place and that no further costs would be incurred. They did ask to see the whole tractor this time. COSTS were now incurred!! hauling it in!! just venting! I'll keep you posted on its result.

Nice trailer. But it is hard to see what the power unit is. I bought a 30' gooseneck about a year ago. It was a good investment. The only problem is that tractors what to jump on it and follow me home. It happened about 3 weeks ago when two Case 300's came home with me. ;>)

Looks like a new-style Chevy or GMC. 2500HD or 3500 single-rear-wheel by the looks of things. Nowhere near enough truck for that 10-ton capacity trailer behind it. Probably at the tow limit just towing the empty trailer around, let alone with 3-4 tons of tractor on it.

(quoted from post at 19:06:46 06/03/08) I dislike that event when that happening, but the dealer is eating some of it! JimN

The dealer is even going further than just warranting the work they did. Originally the unit was removed and brought in for the repair. This time the dealer will not only have to redo what was already done but they are also paying for the removal and installation.

Plenty of truck under that trailer. You wouldn't think anything of that tractor on a bumper pull trailer behind that pickup, a gooseneck makes it handle even better. If you went by manufacturers rated towing capacity, you'd have to have a semi tractor in front of just about everything.
