farmall 100 missing spark

tried to get my 1955 farmall 100 running again today after 3 or 4 years of sitting out. unfortunately, other projects got in the way but now its time for the restoration. problem is, i have no spark. its a completely original 6 volt system. my multimeter tells me that there"s voltage going to the coil and it has continuity from the coil through to the points. there"s also continuity through the main coil wire to the rotor, and through the spark plug wires. i carefully removed corrosion off the points with a file and touched up the studs on the coil itself. obviously im missing something, probably simple. can anyone help?

I would replace the condenser to see if that's the problem. It may be that the coil is weak. Hal

Another possible item. Disconnect the wire on the outside of the dist (going to coil) Then measure the esistance to ground with the points closed, and then open. Open it should show high resistance. closed, it should show no resistance. JimN

i traded the coil, condenser, and the cap off my gas m which i know runs great and still no spark. also have zero resistance to ground across the points when closed, when open i have no conductivity in the least. i still have slightly more than 6 volts on both sides of the coil and on down to the points. im at the point now where ive given myself a headache and am second guessing myself on how this should work so any other ideas?

Remove the wire on the outside of the dist. Take a known good condenser, and jumper its lead to to that wire, and its body to ground. Then put a spark plug wire in the coil directly and put a spark plug in it with the body grounded. Turn on the ign and tap the end of the wire to ground. This is basically a "new" set of points and removes components from the system. If there is now spark coming from the coil, the issue is in the dist.
If not, the issue is with supply. JimN

have you verified that the rotor is turning? a couple of weeks ago my grandfather had problems with an A because a pin sheared off on the shaft in the distributor.
