450 Diesel generator belt replacement

I will have this project coming up in the near future just as soon as I have a generator ready. This past weekend, I tried removing the old gen. belt like I've done on my M's and Super M's. Managed to get the water pulley loosened the fan belt out of the way. However, I couldn't work it over the 6-bladed fan and ended up cutting it off. How in the world can I replace the belt without major disassembly? Looks like I may have to figure out how to take the fan blades loose from hub and install the belt that way.

Any thoughts?

The belt will come out of there without removing anything else. You just gotta think about it.

Rusty,

I hope so. It's easy to remove the belt on my gassers as it is longer and the fan has 4 blades. But this diesel uses a shorter belt and has a 6 blade fan.

The trick might be to get that belt up and over just one blade at a time.
