Cracked frame in H

After (of course) I primed the rear frame on the H I noticed cracks in the casting in the area where the rear axle mounts to the frame. The solvent that I used to wipe it down crept into the cracks and made them visible. Now what? I assume the cracks are not new and caused no harm when the tractor was together and running. The axle housing should hold everything together when it's bolted to the frame. My inclination is to do nothing except maybe drill a few small holes to stop the cracks from spreading. I have pictures in the "Parts and Pieces" gallery under "1951 Farmall H - Rear Frame". Has anyone seen this before? Should I be more concerned?

The cracks might not propagate, but in my opinion now is the time to put a different housing on it. There are many of these in the yards. The issue is that with it torn down to the extent it is, why risk it, I would think that you can even get a close casting date stamp to make it a near original replacement.
I think that location is a stress area, and may have broken from either loose axle housing force, or overload like rough treatment with a corn picker.
I would say replace. JimN
