I have a 1958 International 340 and it has a bad flywheel If I unbolt it from engin will it just slide apart to get at flywheel looks very simple to me but dont know if Im right need some advise on this Thanks Ric

do you have the engine split way from the transmission ? if not i see no way of getting the flywheel out but ive been wrong before :D

No nothing apart thats my question is it easy to split apart looks like just unbolt and pull apart is that right Ric

not familiar with the 340 but generally they are not hard to split if you have the tools and equipment to handle them. I made split stands for my SMTA when I split it. I once split it by using the split stands on the front and suing a 3 ton floor jack chained to the tractor near the back end of the torque tube and pulling it apart that way. If you don't have the jacks and blocking to handle it get someone else to do it. If it falls on your toe or something worse you will wish you had. I also use bolts with the heads cut off to line up when reassembling. I would get a book on the tractor, at least IT before starting on it.
