Traveling through St. Louis

For those of you coming to Red Power from the east, don't forget I-64/US 40 is closed in St. Louis, and you will have to use a different route. This has resulted in increased traffic on the other Highways, but has not caused as many problems as expected. Also, if you need a trooper, or ambulance while on the road in MO., dialing *55 from your cell phone is a better idea than 911. *55 connects you directly to the State Patrol and they can verify your location via the GPS chip in your cell, while many of the 911 systems must rely on your description of the location.

Thanks for the heads up...what is the suggested route around St Louis. I want to go to Colinsville ILL then on to Red power.

y suggestion would be to take 255 north to 270 and 270 west to 370, then take it to 70. That should keep you out of the worst traffic and congestion. Whatever you do, avoid rush hour.
