574 torque amplifier

Bringing 574 tractor home running in 4th high. Torque amplifier dropped into low and has not worked since. Stays in low. Any idea as to what happened? Purchased an I&T shop serevice manual but couldn't find anything abour 574 TA in it.

Hi Kleed, you may have to buy manual for 674 or 684 as T/A was option on 574 and 674 but standard on 684. My 684 I&T shop manual has T/A section. There is mechanical linkage that connects from level on dash to top of transmission cover under battery box. Looked at caseih.com parts, there is no T/A shown for 574 or 674 but 684 drive train page 7-64, 7-66 shows T/A. Also does PTO and other hydraulics work as there is a small hydraulic pump that runs off the PTO drive shaft that powers the T/A clutch in the HI position. LO T/A is a mechanical drive with a mechanical friction clutch to provide engine braking on down hill. Also check Hytran fluid level in transmission (dipstick by left heel) as hydraulic pump for T/A uses Hytran fluid from transmission.
