value of an MD head

What is a fair value of a Used Farmall MD head that is in need of valves, springs, seats, and guides. It had been magnafluxed and was crack free. It is at a local CIH dealer and they want me to make an offer for it.

In that condition maybe 250.00? I would make them set a price personally though. They may want less or more than you are willing to pay.

I agree 250. Though good, it has a lot of pricy machine work, and parts to put on it. If tractor ready, it would be (opinion)in the 7 to 800 area, and be a cheap price.

Yes, I was thinking the exact smae thing. If ready to install I have seen them go as high as 1200.00.

I bought a head for my 1855 oliver ready to go for $200.

Yeah but the head we are talking about is ALOT more complicated. It is one of the IH gas start diesel heads. Very expensive to work on.
